Rules

1.    Connecticut Chopin Piano Academy  is more than a master class! An exclusive and diversified summer festival with intense artistic work and numerous concerts. 30 young pianists around the world will receive 5 lessons, one with each professor from our international faculty, and can perform at in one student recital (if selected). All students can perform with Chopin Academy Orchestra comprised with Connecticut professional musicians from such ensembles as for example  Hartford Symphony Orchestra (They have to be prepared to do it). Masterclasses will take place at following places:

a.    Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT (Founders Hall- Steinway Model D)
b.    Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT (Piano Rooms at Welte Hall)
c.    Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford, CT (Concert Hall- Steinway Model D)
d.    Aylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford, CT (McKeith Hall-Steinway Model D)

If qualified you will be asked to pay the tuition till April 15, 2021  (you will be instructed after acceptance about possible transfer methods).
3.    All expenses and accommodation have to be covered by participants themselves.

4.    The participants are allowed to find their own accommodation. We will be happy to provide the list of possible hotels in the area. There will be also possibility to stay at the dormitory-like housing at CCSU campus. The communication between New Britain and Hartford will be provided for the purpose of lessons and practicing and by the determined schedule by the organizer.   


5.    The fee for masterclass, board and accommodation will not be reimbursed or refunded in any moment. If festival will have to be postponed of any possible reasons including a pandemic of Covid-19 or any other, the fees for accommodation, tuition, board will not be returned but allocated into future participation in postponed  or future event. There is absolutely no exception for this rule. The organizer of the event will not take into consideration explanations in any form including: 
a.    Preparation to exams, auditions, competitions, etc. which could coincide with the postponed date of Connecticut Chopin Piano Academy
b.    Clash of terms of different events resulting from the prospective postpone of Connecticut Chopin Piano Academy
c.    Travel issues
d.    Health Issues
e.    Any other reasons.

6. Every student will receive at least 3 hours of practice daily at Central Connecticut Chopin Piano Academy, Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford, CT or St. James Episcopal Church in Farmington, CT .

7. Students of first session will have one opportunity to perform one movement of piano concerto accompanied by Chopin Academy Orchestra between June 4-6 , 2021 at Central Connecticut State University. All participants will be provided 30 min. rehearsal with orchestra and conductor.

All participants of first session will have an opportunity to perform with orchestra if:
1. Learn above listed concerto (full technical control and perfect memorization)
2. They will easily collaborate with orchestra including such things as partnering and  musical understanding.
3. Artistic Director and staff will attend rehearsals and if  they notice any problems with mastering material and/or   conductor/orchestra - soloist communication will not allow this participant to perform in the official concert.
